Nissan Is Officially Discontinuing The Altima After 2026

Two familiar Nissan models are heading toward the end of their time on American roads. The Altima, one of Nissan’s longest running sedans, and the Rogue Plug In Hybrid are both being removed from the lineup as the company shifts its focus toward newer vehicles.

Nissan confirmed the Altima will soon depart after more than three decades of production. The company is still planning to introduce a 2027 Altima later this year before the sedan officially disappears. The Rogue Plug In Hybrid is also being discontinued after being used as a short term option for buyers looking for a Nissan hybrid before the arrival of the next generation Rogue E Power.

The changes mark the end of two very different chapters for Nissan. The Altima became one of the most recognizable affordable sedans in the U.S., while the Rogue Plug In Hybrid helped Nissan compete in the growing hybrid market.
